Το dissonArt ensemble ιδρύθηκε στις αρχές του 2005 στη Θεσσαλονίκη με σκοπό τη διάδοση της μουσικής πρωτοπορίας, τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και πέρα από τα σύνορά της.

Στην έως τώρα καλλιτεχνική του διαδρομή έχει εμφανιστεί σε διεθνή φεστιβάλ όπως Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music, Munich Biennale für Musik Theatre, Klang Festival Copenhagen, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Klangspuren Innsbruck, Ensembl[:E]uropa Cologne, Kunstfestspiele Herreunhausen Hannover, 4020. mehr als Musik Linz, Musikprotocoll Graz, Athens Festival, Forum Wallis Switzerland, MICO Festival Bologna, Salzburg Biennale, Kunstfestspile Ηerrenhausen Hannover, Milano incontra la Grecia, Copenhagen Opera Festival, Mixtur Festival Barcelona, Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών, Φεστιβάλ Κύπριων Συνθετών Λευκωσία και έχει συνεργαστεί με συνθέτες διεθνούς βεληνεκούς όπως οι Beat Furrer, Γιώργος Απέργης, Manos Tsangaris, Γιώργος Κουμεντάκης, Αugustino di Scipio, Barblina Meierhans, Younghi Pagh-Paan, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Simone Movio, Carola Bauckholt and Christian Wolff, Morris Rosenzweig μεταξύ άλλων.

Έχει πραγματοποιήσει ηχογραφήσεις σε παραγωγή Godrecords, ORF, WDR, Naxos, Phasma Music και Dissonance Records ενώ έχει λάβει δύο φορές επιχορήγηση από την ERNST Von Siemens για την δημιουργία έργου μουσικού θεάτρου.

Παράλληλα όλα αυτά τα χρόνια το σύνολο έχει αναπτύξει και εκπαιδευτική δραστηριότητα, εκτελώντας έργα φοιτητών σύνθεσης στα Εργαστήρια Σύγχρονης Μουσικής του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Θεσσαλονίκης, στο Εργαστήρι Σύνθεσης του Τμήματος Μουσικών Σπουδών του ΑΠΘ και στα πλαίσια εργαστηρίων του Μουσικού Χωριού.

H Στέγη Γραμμάτων και Τεχνών του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση υποστηρίζει τις συναυλίες του συνόλου στο εξωτερικό από το 2013 (www.sgt.gr), ενώ ιδιαίτερα τιμητική ήταν η επιλογή του dissonArt ανάμεσα από 35 σύνολα από το Darmstadt Ιnternational Μusic Courses τον Ιούλιο 2012, όπως και η πρόκληση στην πρώτη παραγωγή της Εναλλακτικής Σκηνής του Κέντρου Πολιτισμού Σταύρος Νιάρχος τον Ιούνιο του 2016

One of the top new music ensembles in Greece the ensemble dissonArt was founded in 2005 around a core of eight soloists and associated partners, with a flexible internal structure. The ensemble’s programs aim to promote works of recognized as well as emerging composers that deserve to be heard. Music-theatre works and collaborations with groups of other artistic disciplines, that result in the creation of original works, are among the main objectives of dissonArt. To that end the ensemble has closely collaborated with composers of international prestige such as Beat Furrer, Manos Tsangaris, Augustino di Scipio, Barblina Meierhans, Georges Aperghis, Younghi Pagh-Paan, George Koumendakis, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Simone Movio, Carola Bauckholt and Christian Wolff. dissonArt ensemble is performing frequently in Greece and abroad in prominent halls and festivals such as the Salzburg Biennale, Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music, Munich Biennale fur Musik Theatre, Klang Festival (Copenhagen), Berlin Deutsche Oper, Klangspuren (Innsbruck), Mixtur Barcelona, Ensembl[:E]uropa (Cologne), Kunstfestspiele Herreunhausen (Hannover), 4020. mehr als Musik (Linz), Athens Festival, Brucknerhaus, Minoritensaal, Kolumba Museum, Piccolo Teatro, Onassis Cultural Centre, Theatre Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Alternative Stage SNFF, Musikprotocoll (Graz), Athens Festival, Forum Wallis (Switzerland), MICO Festival (Bologna), a.o. It has recorded for Godrecords, ORF, WDR, Naxos, Phasma Music and Dissonance Records and has received the Ernst Von Siemens Funding for the creation of new music theatre works twice. Guest conductors of the ensemble include Johannes Kalitzke, Vladimiros Symeonidis, Scot Voyles, Francois Deppe, Morris Rosenzweig, Edo Micic, Francesco La Licata, Beat Furrer, Vicente Larrañaga and Cordula Bürgi.
